Local Patients

Below is the initial process to establish treatment with Dr. Gossett for a prospective patient who is within an hour or so driving distance from Dr. Gossett’s practice in Champaign, Illinois.

The first step in working with Dr. Gossett is to phone our office and talk to Jami. Jami will spend as much time as needed to understand your condition, steps you have taken to try & help yourself, then assess and record all the nuances of your particular situation. Once she has determined, based on the information provided, she believes Dr. Gossett may be able to help you, she will set up a consultation. She will mail you the necessary paperwork so you can fill it out in the comfort of home, as well as help you order any copies of MRI’s or scans that have been taken.

At the consultation, Dr. Gossett will perform a preliminary functional, Orthopedic and Neurological Exam. He will also review with you a thorough health history, to get a very clear picture of your situation. This initial exam takes about 60-70 minutes. Dr. Gossett is a very detailed practitioner and will want to get to know YOU too, not just your illness. Many patients say they feel better after the exam, even when no treatment has yet been rendered because they feel heard and understood, and of course hopeful that there is indeed a professional physician who understands the complexity of their condition and is equipped to help.

You will then have a second appointment, usually just a few days later. If Dr. Gossett believes he can make a dramatic shift in your condition and can accept you as a patient, he will present you his customized treatment program. On this visit, you must bring your spouse or significant other. If you do not have a spouse or significant other, then we recommend you bring a trusted friend or family member. There will be a lot of information shared at this visit as Dr. Gossett lays out the root causes which are adversely affecting your condition, followed by his recommendations for treatment. It can be a lot of information, so having another person present is helpful by being a sounding board, asking questions and taking notes.

Distance Patients

Below is the initial process to establish treatment with Dr. Gossett for a prospective patient who is not within a reasonable driving distance for multiple visits with Dr. Gossett. These last typically a week in duration.

The first step in working with Dr. Gossett is to phone our office and talk to Jami, the New Patient Coordinator. Jami will spend as much time as needed to understand your condition, cover the steps you have taken to try & help yourself, then assess and record all the nuances of your particular situation. At that point, we usually send a comprehensive packet detailing our Distance Intensive Program. This packet is comprehensive in its scope of detail. If you already know you want to work with Dr. Gossett, or after you receive your packet and wish to move forward, the next step is a phone consultation with Dr. Gossett.

The next step is Dr. Gossett with has a phone call with you, the purpose of this phone call is to go into more depth in understanding about you and your condition. At this time, Dr. Gossett will make the determination if he believes you would benefit from an Intensive, and then we would schedule your first visit to the clinic.

Dr. Gossett’s intensives are a time where he will work with you one-on-one for at least five days in a row and provide very targeting therapies designed to shift your condition for the better, as quickly as possible. Dr. Gossett offers a very customized approach at each visit; although you may need similar therapies as other patients, they will be utilized in a specific way for your particular condition. It will be like having Dr. Gossett as your very own private doctor.
